Caitlyn wants to visit her grandparents on the train by herself but Dorie is worried about Caitlyn's safety, so she follows her all around town but uses nearly all of her spell drops trying to supervise her. At test time, Mirabelle and Reanne pass and meet their fairies Mimi and Rere. Because Dorie was supervising Caitlyn and used all her magic, she fails.
